Here's a recap of what we learned for week 21!
Bible:
Resource: Foundations of the Bible vol.2
Christ-Centered Easter Study , CC Bible Songs
For week 21, we learned about the original languages of the Old Testament (Hebrew and Aramaic). We are also still working through the Christ-centered Easter study. My kids have been able to memorize all 24 weeks of the Bible memory work by listening to the songs I've made up with my friend Megan. We play them all the time, and it's helped them become Bible memory masters at home :)
History:
Resource: Story of the World Book 4 - Chapter 35
Activity: Coloring page from Scribblers page on CC Connected
This week we learned about the Cold War. We read several resources starting with Story of the World. We also read the back of the Cold War timeline card which was super helpful. If you own those, try to remember to reference those more for history topics. I also grabbed two picture books from the library related to the Cold War.
Science:
Resource: Learning with Friends Physics | Science Flash Cards for CC Weeks 13-24
Activity: Food coloring in cold and hot water
Video: What is the 3rd Law of Thermodynamics
This week, we used the activity recommendation from Learning with Friends again. It was super simple and helped explain the 3rd Law of Thermodynamics. We also watched some YouTube videos to help explain it. Our memory song this week is so catchy, we can't stop singing it. I'll link it here.
Geography:
Resources: CC Sandbox Geography page, LeapFrog Globe
We learned geography this week super easily by singing it to the tune "Feliz Navidad." Super catchy! The kids love using this globe to learn quick facts about each country. We also watch videos on YouTube about each country to learn fun facts.
Library Books:
Here are some of the books we enjoyed from the library for week 21. Remember to check CC Connected Sandbox file for book recommendations, as well as the Cycle 2 booklist from Half a Hundred Acre Wood.
All Around the World: El Salvador by Joanne Mattern
Did anything good come out of the Cold War? by Paul Mason
