If you aren't familiar with apologetics, I'll help explain it in simple terms. Apologetics is being able to defend the Christian faith and explain why it is true.
It stems from the key verse in 1 Peter 3:15:
"but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,"
The first step in being able to defend your faith is by knowing what you believe, which comes from 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑩𝒊𝒃𝒍𝒆. If you want to explain to someone what you believe, you need to know what the Bible says. So, I would first start with familiarizing yourself with full books of the Bible.
Now, I haven't done a ton of apologetics studies, but I have read these two books and will share my thoughts on each:
1. 𝑨𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝑮𝒐𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒍 𝒃𝒚 𝑨𝒍𝒊𝒔𝒂 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔
This is my top pick if you want to ease yourself into apologetics. It's an easy read and shares the details in an easy-to-understand way. Alisa shares her experience dealing with a progressive pastor that basically made her doubt all her beliefs. She had to dive deep and get answers to her many questions, but thankfully the Lord made her faith stronger through the process. She explains the foundations of the Christian faith, the reliability of the Bible, and tons of evidence for Christianity to be objectively true. It's such a great read— I read the whole book in a week! I couldn't put it down.
2. 𝑴𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝑩𝒆𝒂𝒓 𝑨𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝒃𝒚 𝑯𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒓𝒚 𝑴𝒐𝒓𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑭𝒆𝒓𝒓𝒆𝒓
This is probably the book you see the most floating in the Christian circles, and rightfully so. It’s a great book, but it is a book I could not read casually. It has a lot of terminologies and gets pretty advanced, so I honestly need to read through it a second time, with a notebook and pen handy. It had a group discussion piece, which would probably be very beneficial to talk through the big ideas with friends. This is a book that takes intentional reading and comprehension, but you will learn a lot if you put the work in. This book helps equip moms to be able to explain the objective truths of the Christian faith to our kids.
